Introducing the Seiko SRPE93K Prospex 'Turtle' Automatic Divers watch that is bound to be a new staple in your wardrobe. This dive watch is an incredible combination between versatile style and world class watch making.

The Seiko SRPE93K draws heavy influence from the Seiko6105, also known as the Captain Willard, which is an iconic watch from the Vietnam War era. As a result, we get unmissable vintage vibes from the make and its design features.

This model replaces the SRP777, with the only difference being a change in the text on the case back. So, if you’re a fan of this piece, then we know you’ll love the SRPE93K version of the Seiko Prospex. Let’s take a deep dive into the features and functions of the watch so that you can decide whether it’s for you!

Overview:

The Case

This watch is complete with the iconic turtle case shape, a design that will be instantly recognisable by watch enthusiasts. It’s the watch’s broad, cushion-shaped case that inspired the ‘turtle’ nickname as well as its resemblance to the animal. It gives a great rugged look with ample flanks that serve to protect the case and crown. Like many dive watches, its size is quite hefty coming in at 44.3mm in diameter with a 22mm distance between the lugs. While it boasts a robust size, we find that it sits smaller on the wrist, giving it a surprising yet well received edge of increased wearability with its seamless curves. The bezel is unidirectional with a firm action, while adding height and contrasting texture to the double row of polished grips.

The Band

Enjoy the comfortability and versatility of a black silicone band that matches the monochromatic theme of the timepiece. Complete with accordion waves and a stainless steel buckle, once you find the right fit, the watch hugs the wrist nicely. We really like the silicone band choice, as it lets the wearer get the most out of it, whether you’re headed to the office, the ocean or a social event, the Seiko SRPE93K is sure to impress.

The Dial

One of our favourite things about the design of this piece is the contrast and readability of the dial that gives you all the information you need from a quick glance. The black and white duo is iconic, and again makes the watch all that more wearable. The hour markers and hands are finished with strong lume for legibility in low lighting and the dark. At 3 o’clock we get a day and date window and at 6 o’clock we see the Prospex logo along with information about the watch. Overall, this is an easy to read watch with flat hardlex glass and nice big markers all packaged in a tough case. It’s a great beater watch, and with 200m water resistance and a screw down crown, you can take it on your biggest adventures with ease.

The Movement

Like most Seiko Diving watches, this piece is equipped with the impeccable craftsmanship of Seiko Automatic movement with 4R36 Calibre. This mechanical movement is powered by the movement of the wearer and does not require any pesky battery changes. You can also enjoy 41 hours of power reserve so your watch will keep ticking even when it is stationary.

For those who are looking for a new staple, or a one watch collection, this Seiko SRPE93K Prospex 'Turtle' Automatic Divers is a great option. Its fully stainless steel build with an iconic case makes it chunky and slightly heavy, but a little bit of weight isn’t always a bad thing. In fact, it definitely adds to the luxuriousness of this timepiece. With all your favourite features topped with an amazing design, we know this is a watch you’ll love.
