1. Seiko Prospex Sea King Samurai Range
Seiko really are one of the best watch brands on the market, separating themselves from competitors with lines of watches just like this. The ‘King Samurai’ range is undoubtedly my personal favourite line of Dive watches under the $1,000 mark.
Sold with both plain and unique dials as well as having a ceramic bezel and sapphire crystal, it seriously punches above it’s weight. It also doesn’t skip out on the simple elements too, with a 41-hour automatic power reserve, screw down crown, date display, weighing only 200 grams and of course a 200m divers certified water resistance.
If the budget is there, definitely pick one of these watches up it is seriously worth every dollar. Very much a luxury feel for a modest price.

5. Bulova Marine Star
As suggested in the name, Bulova really did make a deep-sea watch! And honestly, I’m impressed. Available in a chronograph model, automatic variant or quartz and rotating bezel they’ve fired on all cylinders with this selection of watches.
A tad on the expensive side for what you are getting but nonetheless a style and particular kind of build you aren’t getting from any other watch on this list. 6. Casio Diver Range
I’ve said once in previous recommendation lists and I’ll say it again, Casio makes the pound for pound the best watches in the world. This range is no different. Simple in appearance, well executed in achieving the full package. Build quality, huge tick. Design, even bigger tick. Practicality, I mean is there a more practical watch than a Casio?
Any watch collector regardless of budget could add any one of the Casio Diver’s to their collection and it wouldn’t look out of place. As well as coming in at less than $250, in my eyes is an absolute steal.

7. G-Shock GBD range
Ok so this isn’t a conventional or text divers watch but there was no way I was leaving this list without a G-Shock recommendation. As recommended, my personal favourite is the GBD range - particularly for those who prefer their watch with a digital display.
Shock resistance in every sense of the word, these watches are built to be bashed around (within reason). But unlike any other Dive watch, the GBD range come inbuilt with Bluetooth functionality. Tracking things like calories burned, steps walked whilst still maintaining all the desirable features of a practical diver’s watch.
Coming in both rectangular and circular dials there really isn’t a pitfall with this watch.

8. Seiko Speedtimer Range
Back to where we started with Seiko. The Seiko Speedtimer blends advanced technology with stylistic colourways and aesthetics perfects for complimenting an outfit. Sold on Watch Depot in 10 different colours all varying in case sizes, it really is a watch that would wear. More so, it’s often a watch I mistaken for something much more expensive than it’s $1,100 price tag.
A solar power chronograph, it is one of the best watches that I personally have ever tried on. There is absolutely zero compromise in the build quality. If you can catch this one on sale, it’s definitely worth picking up.

9. Citizen Promaster Marine Aqualand
Okay, this one is for those who are actually want something to dive down 100 metres with. This watch is the ‘bees’ knees’ of diving watches when it comes to practical sense.
I would go on a tangent about all the features but there are actually way too many to count so it might be best to check it out yourself if you are interested.
My only query with it is the size coming in at a whooping 50.4mm! One thing I will say is that I have seen it in person, and it doesn’t look as big as the case size makes it out to be.
It is definitely worth looking at picking up if you intend on putting a scuba tank on your back.

10. Anything PADI certified
Having recommended many choices orientated towards a fashion sense, I feel it’s important I round out this top 10 with something with a more purpose-built sense in mind.
So why PADI? Well, the acronym stands for Professional Association of Diving Instructors meaning not only are they used by their scuba diving training organisation but received their stamp of approval for quality.
The best analogy I can give is like the Australian cricket team endorsing a particular bat over another, which one would you choose?
But the main reason for this collaboration was that Seiko and PADI proudly partnered with each other in 2016 to not only make watches but also use that as an avenue for change.
Through this line of watches they were able to commence the ‘Save the Ocean’ program in reducing marine debris and protecting aquatic regions around the world.
