In July, Casio announced the release of their Limited-Edition G-SHOCK x ONE PIECE collaboration timepiece.
The alliance combines the bestselling Japanese teen manga series with G-SHOCK's reliable GA-110 watch.
The two joined forced to highlight the similarities between the ONE PIECE spirit and the G-SHOCK framework of superior innovation.
The watch itself features all of the great features you have come to love with the GA-110 and so much more.
It uses the GA-110 base colour of black to accompany the dynamic illustrations of Monkey D. Luffy who is the main character in ONE PIECE.
One of the coolest features of the watch is when the inset dial ticks over to 9 o’clock the iconic image of Luffy’s straw hat appears, and when it hits 3 o'clock the word "WANTED" is embellished across the face.
Luffy’s X-shaped scar also makes an appearance on the watch when the hour and minute hands point to the 2 o'clock and 4 o'clock positions.
The X expresses the ONE PIECE love of adventure and treasure hunting in the smallest of details.
And this is the exact reason why the collaboration works so well.
G-SHOCK is a range that obsesses over the smaller details to create superior products, and they have certainly done that with this release.
